Lobamba – The Ministry of Sport, Culture and Youth Affairs has announced that Somhlolo National Stadium is officially open for public use following the completion of rehabilitation works. The statement was made by the Minister for Sport, Culture and Youth Affairs, Hon Bongani Nzima, on Tuesday, 3 February 2026.
Sporting associations, clubs, institutions and other stakeholders may now book the stadium for sporting and related events. The Ministry confirmed that the approved user fee for the facility is E10 000.00 per game. The fee, sanctioned by the Ministry of Finance, is intended to support the ongoing maintenance, management and long-term preservation of the stadium.
Somhlolo National Stadium, located in Mbabane, is described by the Ministry as a key national heritage site and a strategic piece of sporting infrastructure. The facility is intended to serve Emaswati by supporting sports development, youth empowerment and talent growth, encouraging healthy lifestyles and fostering national unity through sport.
Users have been urged to ensure proper, responsible and respectful use of the stadium. The Ministry said the reopening forms part of government efforts to make national sporting infrastructure accessible while promoting sport as a tool for social development, economic opportunity and national pride.
The Ministry also extended appreciation to Emaswati for their patience and cooperation during the renovation period and conveyed gratitude to His Majesty’s Government for the financial support and leadership that made the rehabilitation and reopening of the stadium possible.
