Mbabane – Eswatini and Portugal are moving to deepen bilateral relations following a meeting held today in the Kingdom, where the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Senator Pholile Shakantu, received Portugal’s Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Ana Isabel Xavier.
The engagement brought together senior officials from both countries to discuss cooperation in key sectors that include trade, tourism and education, as the two nations seek to strengthen diplomatic and economic links.

The meeting took place in Eswatini on Thursday, with both sides expressing interest in building practical partnerships that support development priorities and create opportunities for citizens in both countries.
Discussions focused on a multi sector approach aimed at promoting mutual benefits through shared learning, sustained engagement and long term collaboration. The two countries are exploring targeted investments, joint research initiatives and coordinated development programmes as part of efforts to expand cooperation.
