MBABANE – The Ministry of Natural Resources and Energy, in partnership with World Vision Eswatini, is hosting a Community Training on Water, Sanitation and Hygiene this week, concluding on Friday.
The workshop aims to tackle challenges in accessing safe water, proper sanitation, and hygiene practices across communities. The Ministry said poor WASH conditions contribute to waterborne diseases, reduced productivity, and compromised dignity.
“Through this workshop, we’re building local capacity to improve understanding of core WASH concepts, promote behavioural change, and strengthen community management of water and sanitation services,” the Ministry stated.
Training topics include safe water handling and treatment, sanitation and hygiene behaviours, operation and maintenance of water schemes, environmental sanitation and waste management, and community roles and governance in WASH management.
The Ministry called on communities to work together to improve health and well-being through enhanced knowledge, skills, and practices in water, sanitation, and hygiene.
