MBABANE – The Kuguga Othandayo 60s Vintage Party will return for its fifth edition on May 30, 2026, bringing back the music, fashion, and energy of the swinging 1960s.
This year, the event moves to Edam in Matsapha, a venue selected by public vote. Organisers are encouraging vintage enthusiasts to wear 1960s-inspired outfits, from floral prints to bell-bottoms, to fully capture the era’s style.
The annual gathering blends music, fashion, and social interaction, aiming to recreate the vibrant spirit of the 1960s. Attendees can look forward to a mix of Jazz, Three-Step, Gospel, and Old-School classics, combining entertainment with cultural storytelling.
South African entertainer MC Bethu, known for his iconic female persona inspired by Kofifi culture, will join the event, adding dance, costume, and theatrical flair. Event founder Sifiso “Illa Penboy” Ndlangamandla described his participation as a “perfect fit” for the celebration.
“This year, we wanted to make the event even bigger and more interactive. MC Bethu’s unique style aligns with the 1960s vibe and we can’t wait to see him bring the era to life on stage,” Ndlangamandla said.
