Mbabane city leadership has paid tribute to outgoing Mbabane Police Station Commander Senior Superintendent Sabelo Dlamini for his role in reducing crime and strengthening collaboration between the Royal Eswatini Police Service and the City Council.
The farewell, attended by Mayor Thulani Mkhonta, Deputy Mayor Percy Rocher, City Council Chief Executive Officer Gciniwe Fakudze, and other stakeholders, recognised Superintendent Dlamini as a trusted partner in improving urban safety and the quality of life for residents.
During his tenure, a formal memorandum of understanding between the City Council and the police was established to enhance public safety. This partnership led to the operationalisation of the Mbabane CCTV monitoring hub, staffed by police officers to support crime prevention and response.
City officials said Dlamini’s hands-on approach to policing, including regular engagement with municipal and community structures, helped advance community policing and safer neighbourhoods. His time as station commander saw notable improvements in urban safety initiatives and coordination with municipal services.
Superintendent Dlamini has been transferred to the Shiselweni Regional Headquarters to take on new responsibilities. The City Council extended best wishes for his next assignment and said it looks forward to continuing collaboration with the police under the leadership of incoming Mbabane Station Commander Assistant Superintendent Sifiso “Nuro” Ntibane.
