Mbabane – Moneni Pirates Football Club has sent 16-year-old attacking midfielder Siviwe Sechaba Madzinane to Cape Town, South Africa, for a week-long assessment at the Rising Star Football Excellence Academy.
Madzinane, considered one of the club’s top young talents, will take part in an intensive programme designed to test his technical skills, tactical understanding, physical fitness and mental resilience. The attachment also puts him in contention for a full scholarship at the academy.
Moneni Pirates officials say the move is part of the club’s strategy to develop young players and prepare them for professional opportunities beyond Eswatini’s domestic leagues. Club president Thulani Xaba has been credited with spearheading initiatives that link local talent to international training programmes.
Known as “The Young Corporal,” Madzinane will represent Moneni Pirates during the assessment, carrying the expectations of the club and the wider football community in Eswatini. The club has wished him success, calling on him to approach the programme with discipline and ambition.
