Sikhuphe – The Eswatini Olympic and Commonwealth Games Association (EOCGA) Marketing and Communications Officer Mkhulisi Dlamini departed for Dakar, in Senegal, today to take up an attachment with the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games Local Organising Committee.
Dlamini’s placement will see him contribute directly to the planning and delivery processes of the Youth Olympic Games, one of the world’s premier multi-sport events. The attachment is expected to provide him with hands-on experience and valuable exposure to international best practices in sports event organisation, communications and stakeholder engagement.
EOCGA, in a show of strengthening international footprint, described the opportunity as a significant step in its ongoing commitment to capacity building and strategic positioning within the Olympic Movement. By placing its officials within major global sporting events, the association aims to strengthen institutional expertise that can be applied to the development of sport in Eswatini.
The Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games represent a landmark event for Africa, and Dlamini’s involvement places Eswatini within the broader continental effort to deliver a successful Games. His role is also seen as an opportunity to build networks and enhance the country’s visibility on the international sporting stage.
EOCGA wished Dlamini a safe journey and a successful assignment as he represented both the association and the Kingdom of Eswatini during his time in Senegal.
