Mbabane: The Royal Eswatini Police Service (REPS) is still looking for Editor of the Swaziland News Zweli Martin Dlamini for several cases relating to his criminal activities of alleged assault, house breaking and contempt of court for missing several court appearances.
According to the statement issued by the Government Spokesperson Sabelo Dlamini on Tuesday, the Editor of the online publication is currently on the run and a fugitive of the law as he faces several criminal charges.
The government’s mouthpiece said they are also currently pursuing legal channels to hold Zweli Dlamini accountable for spreading misinformation and insinuating His Majesty King Mswati III. In what was described as libelous, unfounded and factually incorrect articles, Dlamini (Editor) is reported to be dragging the names of His Majesty King Mswati III and the government of Eswatini on the mud.
The Government’s Spokesperson revealed that Swaziland News is hosted online on a South African domain and it is not registered in Eswatini as a media house nor registered with the South African Press Council which is an independent media regulation body in South Africa. Dlamini (Spokesperson) said it seems like this online publication has no intention of being held accountable for misinformation when it comes to reporting about Eswatini.
