MBABANE- Worshippers from different churches across Eswatini are expected to gather at Joy Mission in Ngculwini on October 23 and 24 for the third edition of the Worship Conference, an event aimed at deepening believers’ understanding of praise and worship beyond singing.
Hosted by The Sound Worship Campaign, the annual gathering seeks to strengthen believers’ relationships with God through teaching, worship, fellowship and spiritual growth.
The conference was first held in 2023, with all three editions hosted at Joy Mission, which has become a consistent meeting place for worshippers seeking to grow in their understanding of worship.
According to the campaign’s founder and conference host, Pastor Bheki Khumalo, the gathering provides an opportunity for believers from different parts of the country and various churches to come together after spending the year ministering in different communities.
“During the year, we go to different parts of the country, and then this conference is where we come together. Believers come from different parts of the country and different churches,” he explained.
Khumalo said one of the key messages of the conference was that worship should be understood as an expression of a believer’s relationship with God, rather than being limited to music and singing.
He noted that a lack of teaching on the subject had contributed to misunderstandings about praise and worship, making it important for believers to gain a deeper understanding of their purpose.
“We emphasise the relationship, with music being an expression of that relationship. I have discovered that, in most cases, it is a lack of teaching on the subject. So, when believers learn, they do it right,” he said.
The conference will feature three speakers, namely Pastor Bheki Khumalo, who will serve as host, Pastor Happy Khumalo and Pastor Khabo Dlamini.
Praise and worship throughout the gathering will be led by The Sound Worship Campaign team, creating an opportunity for attendees to participate in collective worship while learning from the scheduled teachings.
Beyond individual spiritual growth, the conference also seeks to promote unity among churches.
Khumalo emphasised that the gathering reflects the belief that the church is one body, with The Sound Worship Campaign serving the body of Christ through its focus on praise and worship.
He said spending time together and worshipping towards one purpose helps strengthen relationships among believers from different congregations.
As the campaign continues to grow, Khumalo said its reach was expanding, with the conference expected to leave attendees better equipped to understand praise and worship and share what they learn within their respective churches.
Attendees are encouraged to come prepared to learn, worship, build relationships and grow spiritually.
Registration fees are E100 for non-camping participants, E150 for those camping for one day and E200 for those camping for two days.
Those interested in attending can register by sending a WhatsApp message to 78556685.
