New York, United States – Lesotho has taken a prominent role in shaping Africa’s stance on the global digital agenda during the Africa Region’s Pre-WSIS+20 Information Meeting held in New York this week.
The Minister of Information, Communications, Science, Technology and Innovation, Honourable Nthati Moorosi, urged African nations to adopt a unified position ahead of the upcoming World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS+20) global review. She noted that advancing connectivity, promoting a green digital future, and ensuring inclusive development requires collective action across the continent.
Lesotho’s growing influence in continental and global digital governance was evident at the meeting. The country’s coordination efforts, led by Principal Secretary Mr Kanono Leronti Ramashamole in collaboration with African Union structures and regional partners, positioned Lesotho as a key driver in Africa’s digital policymaking.
