Phil Foden scored twice, including a stoppage-time winner, to give Manchester City a 3-2 victory over Leeds United at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday.
Foden opened the scoring in the first minute, and City looked set for an easy win when Josko Gvardiol doubled the lead midway through the first half. Leeds, however, mounted a fightback after halftime following the introduction of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who pulled a goal back and earned a penalty. Lukas Nmecha’s penalty was initially saved by Gianluigi Donnarumma, but he converted the rebound to level the score at 2-2.
As Leeds pressed for a winner, Foden struck in the 91st minute, curling a precise shot into the bottom-left corner to secure all three points for City. The result lifts Manchester City to second in the Premier League table ahead of the Sunday clash between title contenders Arsenal and Chelsea, while Leeds remain 18th.
