Mbabane – The Eswatini National Trust Commission joined environmental stakeholders at the 2025 Temvelo Awards last night, Friday, where outstanding efforts in conservation and sustainable development were recognised before national leaders and community representatives.
The ceremony, attended by Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini, brought together organisations working to protect the country’s natural heritage. The event honoured institutions that demonstrated commitment to ecological restoration, environmental innovation and community-focused sustainability programmes.
Mr Mzwandile Ntshangase, representing the ENTC Chief Executive, announced the Green Municipal Award, which was presented to the Mbabane Municipal Council for its sustained efforts in promoting cleaner communities, improved waste management and green initiatives across the capital.
The Mbuluzi Ecosystem Restoration Project, led by ENTC in partnership with local and international collaborators, received the Ecosystem Hero Award for restoring degraded areas along the Mbuluzi corridor and fostering long-term resilience through community engagement and science-based land rehabilitation.
ENTC also sponsored prizes in several award categories to support organisations and individuals whose projects continue to drive environmental awareness and responsibility throughout Eswatini.
