Mliba – Four men have been arrested in connection with a cattle theft incident in the Zandondo area. The suspects, aged 41, 37, 24, and 34, were apprehended on November 23, 2025, after being caught with three slaughtered cattle valued at E60,000. The arrest took place at approximately 11:30 AM on a farm in the Zandondo region.
Two of the suspects, aged 24 and 34, were employed at a farm in Zandondo. They allegedly worked with the other two suspects, who were buyers, to steal the cattle from another farm. After slaughtering the animals, they loaded the carcasses into a box truck and transported them to a nearby river to clean the remains. However, their actions were noticed by a local resident, who alerted authorities.
Members of the Umphakatsi Emergency Defence Force (UEDF) responded swiftly to the scene and detained the four men. They were later handed over to the Royal Eswatini Police Service (REPS). The suspects were charged for not having the necessary stock removal permit to justify their possession of the cattle.
Investigations are continuing, and the suspects are expected to appear in the Mliba Circuit Court tomorrow. Authorities are also looking into a similar cattle theft incident that occurred last week at Ekutsimuleni, where three cattle worth E34,000 were stolen and slaughtered.
