Mbabane – Royal Leopard are struggling to understand the cause of their poor run after suffering another defeat in the MTN Premier League. The club’s General Manager, Frank Hurube, says the team is caught in uncertainty as pressure mounts on players and technical staff.
Hurube spoke moments after their 1 to 0 loss to unbeaten Ezulwini United at the weekend. He said the squad is unsettled by the manner in which results have been slipping away, noting that although their general play has been acceptable, their inability to convert chances has become a major worry.
He explained that the mood in camp has shifted as frustration builds, with some players showing signs of emotional strain. According to him, the team structure remains intact but the real challenge is identifying what has gone wrong and how quickly it can be fixed.
Management has started internal efforts to understand the dip in form and stabilise the club, mindful of the high expectations that come with representing one of the country’s respected security force sides.
Under coach Edwin Matsebula, Leopard have managed only one victory in six league fixtures, drawing twice and losing three. The poor run has dropped them to 13th place on five points, raising concern among supporters who are used to stronger performances from the traditional giants.
Leopard now turn their attention to their next fixture against Manzini Sea Birds at Simunye Stadium. Hurube said the team must urgently find the root of their struggles before the situation deepens.
