MANZINI – Manzini Wanderers’ Council of Elders has stepped in to address a widening rift between the club’s leadership and the National Supporters Committee, led by Mthunzi Dlamini. The intervention comes after Managing Director Mlamuli Mabuza briefly resigned amid mounting pressure from the supporters’ group, which questioned the leadership’s commitment.
The elders have called the NSC to a meeting earlier today at the club to ease tensions that have unsettled the historic Manzini outfit. Sources say the conflict threatened to disrupt team preparations ahead of their next league match against Tambankulu Celtics.
Last week, Mabuza stepped down following accusations from the NSC, prompting urgent consultations within the club. A closed-door session between Mabuza and the Board of Directors, chaired by Peter Mathaba, on Friday reportedly helped to stabilise the situation. An insider revealed that Mabuza has since reversed his decision and resumed supporting the club financially, allowing training to continue.
Mathaba confirmed the meeting took place but referred all questions to the club’s official channels. Club PRO Mongi Simelane said an official statement will be issued detailing the outcomes.
