Mbabane – The Ministry of Housing and Urban Development has announced the establishment of a Commission of Inquiry to investigate alleged irregularities in the governance, administration, and management of land under the Hlathikhulu Town Board.
According to a public notice issued by the ministry, the commission will begin its public consultations on 17 November 2025 and continue until 22 November 2025. The consultations will take place at the Hlathikhulu Sports Centre from 10.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. daily.
Residents, stakeholders, and current or former employees of the Hlathikhulu Town Board have been urged to cooperate with the commission and provide any information that could help in uncovering the truth behind the concerns raised.

The commission’s schedule will begin with internal interviews on 13 and 14 November 2025, followed by a site visit to Hlathikhulu on 17 November 2025. Interviews with Hlathikhulu Town Board officials are set for 18 November 2025, while the public hearings will be conducted from 19 to 22 November 2025.
