Manzini – A 37-year-old woman from Motjane has been arrested and charged by the Manzini Police for allegedly stealing more than E80,000 from her employer.

According to police reports, the suspect is accused of misappropriating a total of E87,444 that was meant to cover office rent from September 2023 to September 2025. The theft was uncovered after her employer discovered that rent payments had not been made for two years, despite the funds being withdrawn from the company’s coffers each month.

Investigations revealed that the woman, who had been entrusted with handling monthly rental payments, allegedly diverted the funds for her personal use instead of transferring them to the landlord.

Upon realising that her employer had discovered the irregularities, the suspect reportedly fled from work. However, her attempt to evade capture was unsuccessful, as she was arrested on November 7, 2025, and subsequently charged with theft.
