Mbabane – Minister of Commerce, Industry and Trade Manqoba Khumalo met with Jan Holthaus, Chairman of the German Cooperative and Raiffeisen Confederation (DGRV), ahead of the upcoming DGRV Conference on Cooperative Bank Development.
The meeting focused on Eswatini’s ongoing plans to establish a Cooperative Bank, aimed at boosting financial inclusion and empowering members of cooperatives nationwide. Minister Khumalo described the initiative as a key national priority and said it forms part of the legacy of the late Commissioner for Cooperatives, whose recent passing he acknowledged.

“This is not just a Ministry project. It is a national objective. We rely on partnerships like DGRV’s to make it a success,” the Minister said.
He also praised DGRV for its support in strengthening Eswatini’s cooperative sector, noting that the country is gaining recognition in the region for its professionalism and innovative approach.
