Mbabane – In a dramatic twist in Eswatini football, Gcina Dlamini was today unveiled as the new Manzini Wanderers head caoch, just a day after mutually parting ways with Ubombo Sugar FC.
Dlamini confirmed to Eswatini Soccer Magazine that his departure from Ubombo Sugar was on amicable terms following a meeting held yesterday.
“Yes, it’s true we have amicably parted ways. We had a meeting yesterday. I appreciate the opportunity given to me,” he said.
The former Ubombo mentor leaves the club after leading them in three matches in the 2025/26 MTN Premier League season securing one win, one draw, and suffering one defeat. Despite the short stint, Dlamini’s tactical approach reportedly impressed several top-flight clubs, including Wanderers, who moved quickly to secure his services.
Manzini Wanderers announced his appointment earlier today, marking the start of a new chapter for the coach and the hub giants. Other announcements are that Christian Thwala is the assistant coach while Thokozani Mamba is the goalkeeper coach.
Dlamini is expected to bring his disciplined approach and strong defensive structure to the maroon and white outfit, who are targeting a top four finish this season. Dlamini’s swift transition underscores the fluid nature of local coaching movements and signals Wanderers’ intent to stabilise their technical bench early in the campaign.
