Maseru, Lesotho – Policymakers, employers, workers’ representatives, and industry leaders gathered this week in Maseru for a three-day workshop aimed at linking global trade with social justice. The event, held from October 15 to 17, was hosted by Lesotho’s Ministry of Labour and Employment under the SUSTAIN programme, co-funded by the European Union and implemented by the International Labour Organization.
Participants discussed ways to integrate Responsible Business Conduct and International Labour Standards into Lesotho’s national frameworks, ensuring that international investments benefit all sectors fairly. The workshop concluded with the drafting of a national roadmap to guide future trade and investment strategies while promoting decent work and sustainable economic growth.
