Maseru – Lesotho is making notable progress in its digital transformation, aiming to position itself as one of Africa’s emerging digital leaders.
The European Union is supporting the Kingdom through initiatives such as the Data Governance in Africa programme and technical assistance via its Technical Assistance and Information Exchange platform. This support provides tools, expertise, and collaboration to strengthen Lesotho’s digital infrastructure.
This week, EU Ambassador to Lesotho Mette Sunnergren visited the Minister of Communications, Nthati Moorosi, following the completion of a review of the country’s Data Management Policy. The review, conducted under the Data4Gov programme by AUDA-NEPAD and CIPESA, seeks to ensure that digital advancements are guided by trust, accountability, and inclusivity.
Next, the Ministry of Information, Communications, Science, Technology and Innovation will work with the EU on a study mission to Estonia to further enhance Lesotho’s digital capabilities.
