KwaMbonambi – President Cyril Ramaphosa will deliver the eulogy at the funeral service of South Africa’s late Ambassador to France, Emmanuel Nkosinathi “Nathi” Mthethwa, on Sunday.
The Presidency confirmed that the funeral will be held at Dondotha Stadium in KwaMbonambi, KwaZulu-Natal. Ambassador Mthethwa, who served as South Africa’s Head of Mission in Paris, passed away in France on 30 September at the age of 58.
Government announced that he will be honoured with a Special Official Funeral Category 2, a designation reserved for individuals who have made significant contributions to the country. The ceremony will include full ceremonial honours performed by the South African Police Service.
Mthethwa, a former Cabinet Minister before his diplomatic posting, was widely regarded for his long-standing service in public office and his role in strengthening South Africa’s international relations, particularly with France.
