MBABANE – MTN Eswatini has scored a massive goal for local football today, officially unveiling a groundbreaking three-year sponsorship package for the Premier League of Eswatini valued at a total of E22.5 million.
MTN Eswatini Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Wandile Mntshali declared the deal to be “BIGGER AND BETTER,” highlighting the organization’s unwavering commitment to the growth and development of local football.
Participants included various teams’ leadership, Ministry of Sports Arts and Culture representatives, MTN Eswatini leadership and vested stakeholders.
This investment provides the 16-team league with the most robust sustainable support package to date, directly benefiting clubs and players alike. Mntshali confirmed that the upcoming season, which is set to kick off this weekend and will run for the next nine months, will be valued at E7 million.
The E22.5 million will be distributed across the three seasons in a progressive manner, demonstrating increasing confidence and investment over the partnership’s term. The first season will see a disbursement of E7 million, followed by E7.5 million in the second season, and culminating with E8 million in the third season.
This escalating structure ensures the league is financially capable with MTN Eswatini demonstrating its belief in the league’s potential to inspire, unite communities, and elevate Eswatini football to new heights.
The renewed sponsorship package solidifies MTN’s role as a major partner in shaping the future of the country’s most beloved sport.
