Mbabane – Nsingizini Hotspurs are entering the 2025/26 MTN Premier League season with a score to settle, as they prepare to face Mbabane Highlanders AM this weekend at the Mavuso Sports Centre.

The Shiselweni-based side is determined to exact revenge for a costly 2-1 defeat inflicted by Highlanders last season, a loss that Nsingizini’s leadership believes almost cost them the league title.

Speaking on the Eswatini Broadcasting Information Services (EBIS) sports programme, Nsingizini Hotspurs Public Relations Officer Mnotfo Dlamini declared the team was primed for the opening fixture, which he said carried the weight of a personal grudge.

Dlamini confirmed that the pain of last season’s loss was still keenly felt within the squad, emphasising that their souls had “not found peace” since the defeat in May. He stated unequivocally that the team had been waiting for this exact moment and were hungry for revenge, warning that they were now ‘ready to make them feel our pain.’

The PRO explained that the team’s current intense desire to beat the capital giants was the reason they couldn’t even look them in the eye right now, adding that their resolve had only grown stronger since the humbling defeat.

Dlamini revealed that the players had been preparing themselves mentally for the battle and were fully focused for the “war” on the field, knowing exactly what was at stake. He further stated that the fixture was the “perfect opportunity” to begin their season and assured supporters that they would give everything to ensure they came out on top.
