MBABANE — Mbabane Highlanders defender Ndumiso Dlamini will remain with the club for three more months before joining the Umbutfo Eswatini Defence Force.
Dlamini, who recently completed the 3.2-kilometre run at Mahlangatsha Inkhundla during the UEDF recruitment exercise, had previously recovered from a shoulder injury that interrupted his earlier attempt.
Charles Jele, the club’s Acting Spokesperson, confirmed Dlamini’s extended stay, noting the team supports his transition from football to military service.
“Ndumiso will continue to don the black and white jersey until January. We were aware of his interest in joining the army and allowed him to attend the recruitment trials. We are happy for him,” Jele said.
He added that the club encourages players to plan for life beyond football. “Players have families and need stable futures. We are proud of what Ndumiso is doing,” Jele stated.
