Mbabane – Eswatini music star Lyrikal Busta is set to release a new single, Mtukulu, in collaboration with South African award-winning artist Intaba Yase Dubai. The track will be available on all major digital platforms from 26 September 2025.
Mtukulu, which means “grandchild” in SiSwati, explores themes of nostalgia, hope, and unity. The song tells the story of an elderly man encouraging his grandson to play the track repeatedly because it evokes cherished memories. Its upbeat rhythm is designed as a dance anthem, particularly suited for the festive season in December.
Lyrikal Busta said the collaboration aims to convey a cultural message that resonates across generations. He noted the song reflects African heritage and identity while promoting unity among Africans, particularly in light of recent xenophobic tensions.
The track blends the soulful vibes of Sfotawton with the energetic rhythms of Amapiano, produced by South African Skathi Beats and engineered by Sean Cast HQ to ensure a high-quality finish.
Reflecting on the creative process, Lyrikal Busta described working with Intaba Yase Dubai as enriching, citing their previous collaboration on 365 Days, which has amassed over 1 million streams. He said the upcoming release marks an important moment for Eswatini’s growing influence in the regional music scene.
Lyrikal Busta encouraged fellow Swatis to support the single by streaming and sharing it widely, promising a vibrant musical experience that celebrates African culture and unity.
