MBABANE – The Management Office of HRH Nothando Hlophe and gospel musician Mzo Dlamini have jointly issued a statement clarifying the songwriting credits for the highly anticipated worship song, Mmeli Wami.
The song was recently recorded by HRH Nothando Hlophe during the Spirit of Praise live recording at the SunBet Arena in Pretoria, South Africa.
In a joint press statement released on Friday, the two parties explained that Mmeli Wami is a collaborative composition, with each artist contributing different sections of the song.
According to the statement, the chorus was written and is owned by Mzo Dlamini, while the verses performed by HRH Nothando Hlophe were written by the gospel singer herself. The statement emphasised that both contributions are essential to the completed work.
The parties further confirmed that all legal processes relating to the song’s ownership, songwriting credits and contributors’ rights are being handled to ensure every individual involved receives the recognition they deserve.
“The processes are being undertaken with fairness, transparency, and mutual respect for the creative contributions of everyone involved,” the statement read.
The Management Office of HRH Nothando Hlophe and Mzo Dlamini also reaffirmed their commitment to acknowledging every contributor appropriately while ensuring that ownership rights and credits are correctly assigned.
The pair said they are looking forward to sharing Mmeli Wami with audiences once production has been finalised and the relevant party officially releases the song.
The statement concluded by noting that the joint communication represents the agreed position of both parties and should be regarded as the only official statement concerning the matter.
