MBABANE – What started as a suggestion from friends has turned into a social media breakthrough for 24-year-old Eswatini comedian and content creator Mncedisi Mamba, popularly known online as Ndu Browns.
Born in Emaloma and currently residing in Kangomane, Mamba has captured the attention of thousands on TikTok due to his striking resemblance to South African musician Ndu Brown. His videos, which often feature lip-sync performances and comedy skits inspired by the artist, have gone viral, earning him recognition from celebrities and fans across Eswatini and South Africa.
Mamba said people had long encouraged him to create content because of how much he looked like Ndu Brown.
“Yes, because everyone used to say I must do videos, especially lip-syncing Ndu Brown’s songs, because I look like him,” he said.
Inspired by renowned Swazi comedian Gedlembane B83, Mamba began creating comedy content in 2025. However, it was in June 2026 that he fully embraced his resemblance to Ndu Brown by adopting a similar hairstyle and creating content centred around the artist’s music. He officially started posting as Ndu Browns on TikTok on June 24, 2026, and his videos quickly gained traction.
The rapid growth came as a surprise to the young creator, particularly after his content began reaching audiences in South Africa.
“I didn’t know that my videos would go viral like this, especially in South Africa,” he said. “When I saw Naledi Aphiwe using my video in her content, I was so happy. Even when Ndu Brown commented on my videos and Danya liked my content, I felt very happy.”
The recognition from prominent personalities has significantly boosted his online profile. While some fans are aware that he is a content creator, others are often convinced that he is the real Ndu Brown.
“Some fans get confused and think I’m Ndu Brown himself, so I react the way they expect me to,” he explained.
His growing popularity has also opened new opportunities. Mncedisi revealed that many upcoming artists now approach him to promote their songs because his videos consistently attract high engagement and views.
As his platform continues to expand, the comedian is encouraging aspiring creators not to give up on their dreams.
“To everyone who wants to become famous on social media, never get tired of creating content. Even if you get the lowest views, keep going. One day you will be recognised by everyone. What’s important is consistency,” he said
