Mbabane – The Government of the Kingdom of Eswatini has confirmed that Orville Isaac Etoria, a Jamaican national who arrived in the country in July 2025 under the United States’ Third Country Prisoners Programme, voluntarily returned to Jamaica on Sunday, 21 September 2025. His return was made entirely of his own volition and he was welcomed by family members upon arrival.
The government acknowledged the support of the International Organisation for Migration (IOM), which played a key role in facilitating the repatriation. The Jamaican High Commission in Pretoria, South Africa, maintained constant communication with Eswatini authorities to coordinate the process. Transit countries involved also provided essential assistance to ensure the smooth return of Mr Etoria.
Thabile Mdluli, Acting Government Spokesperson, confirmed that engagements with the remaining four immigrants from Cuba, Laos, Vietnam and Yemen are ongoing, with the aim of repatriating them to their respective countries. Further updates will be provided as developments arise.
