MBABANE – Reality TV star Ashley Ogle has confirmed her split from Big Brother Mzansi Season 5 winner Akhonamathemba Mbele, better known by his alias Sweet Guluva, revealing the breakup caught her completely off guard.

The couple, who began dating while on the hit reality show, have now gone their separate ways. Ogle opened up about the unexpected end of their relationship during an appearance on Drink or Tell the Truth with Lasizwe on YouTube.

“Sweet Guluva broke up with me. I didn’t really have a choice. I was a fan of Sweet Guluva and I was in love with him. I still am,” she said candidly during the interview. “But I don’t think I ever liked Akhonamathemba. I believe Sweet Guluva loved me, but the real person behind that name didn’t.”

She described the breakup as sudden and unexplained, saying it happened just over a month ago.

“Usually, you sense something is wrong, but with this, I didn’t see it coming. He said he was focusing on work. Honestly, I felt like the real Akhonamathemba never planned anything serious with me. It was just Sweet Guluva who did.”

The relationship, which drew attention during the reality show’s run, had also sparked rumours that the two were expecting a child. Speaking to The Citizen shortly after exiting the Big Brother house, Ogle put those rumours to rest.

“I did not sleep with Sweet Guluva on TV. There were no sexual encounters, so I’m not pregnant,” she clarified.

Now back to focusing on her life post-show, the media personality shared her plans to grow her career in the entertainment and beauty industries. She mentioned exploring opportunities in acting, writing for TV and music, and launching projects related to fashion and hair.

“People have seen my weaves. Hair is definitely part of the plan,” she said.
