Mbabane – His Majesty King Mswati III has launched the 2025 King’s Cup Golf Tournament, an event that has already attracted E3.1 million in sponsorships with more contributions expected in the coming days.
The launch was held ahead of the tournament that has grown to become one of Eswatini’s biggest sporting attractions. This year’s edition comes with increased prizes, with the champion golfer set to walk away with E240 000, up from last year’s E160 000. A hole-in-one on the final hole will earn a lucky player E600 000.

Addressing the gathering, His Majesty thanked the sponsors and stakeholders who continue to support the competition. He said the tournament is not only about showcasing golf talent but also about uplifting communities, noting that proceeds from the event go towards supporting vulnerable groups.

“This tournament does more than showcase skill; it uplifts our communities,” he said. “We encourage this generosity to inspire other sporting bodies to prioritise caddies, well-wishers and local communities.”
