Mbabane – Siboniso Fana Mamba, popularly known as Fanson, is preparing to drop his highly anticipated song “Abafuni Siphumelele” later this month, followed by its official music video.
Born in 2003 and raised in Sithobelweni, Fanson began rapping in school alongside his friend Mndeni Magagula, using the app Tune Me to record early tracks. While attending Mabhensane High School, he met Blaq Spider, an experienced musician who influenced his early development. He adopted the stage name Fanson, combining his own name with the idea of being a “son.” His first track was recorded at Nkonjwa House Studio and mastered by Plaster.
Fanson performed at small venues, including Moneni Guest House, while perfecting his craft. In 2023, he collaborated with Slow Boy, who introduced him to well-known Matsapha-based producer TN$ Savvy. Together they created the hit track “Ungakhali.”
His new single, “Abafuni Siphumelele,” produced by TN$ Savvy, takes inspiration from Young Zesh’s flow on “Sengibeketele.” The song addresses life challenges and relationships, urging communities to move past jealousy and negative comments that often target young people pursuing their dreams. Fanson cites local artists such as Lyrical Busta, Jay Spitter and Intwanencane as sources of inspiration.
The track will premiere on YouTube on 26 September 2025 and will be available on digital platforms including Spotify, YouTube and TikTok. Its music video, directed and edited by Visto Visuals, was shot on 4 October and will be released on YouTube on 15 October. The video features Bless LePoet, host of Hip-Hop Bars2Bars CypherS4, and Kubuta Might Tigers (Umbholoho), all appearing in traditional dress.
Fanson hopes the song and video will capture audiences and showcase his growth as an artist.
