Ezulwini – Mzayoni Tsabedze got seven 2025 National Gospel Music Awards (NGMA) nominations held at The Gables Movie Zone, in Ezulwini but the artist has been humbled by his fans.
When asked about his success, Mzayoni expressed his excitement.
“When it’s your season, it’s your season. I am humbled and grateful for the recognition and encourage my fans to vote now that the voting lines are officially open,” he said.
Other star-studded nominees was the comeback Nothando Hlophe, who was nominated for Best Song, Best Female Artist, Best Artist, and Best of Africa.
Ndoni also received a significant number of nominations.
The Eswatini National Council of Arts and Culture, Chief Executive Officer Stanley Dlamini, highlighted the awards’ broad reach.
“The nominees are a true representation of what we can offer in Eswatini at a regional level. Seeing artists like Dudu Mhlanga, Mciniseli Tembe and Hlobisile nominated more than once shows that it does not matter where you come from; when your music reaches the people, they will nominate you,” he said.
The event was also supported by gospel music legends, including Mr. Sipho “Big Fish” Makhabane, who emphasized the importance of generational transition.
“Seeing legends like Nduduzo and myself as part of this launch gives hope to the upcoming gospel artists,” he said. “It is important to pass the baton to the next generation.”
The competitive Best Live Event/Recording category also generated significant excitement, with nominations going to the Zion Experience, The New Dawn, Mother of All Gospel Shows, and Itende Worship Experience.
According to Nduduzo Matse, Director of Mother of All Gospel Shows, it shows that the awards are going for big gospel events, “and their participation is what we need to grow the industry and celebrate their work.”
Artists and fans are encouraged to start voting immediately. Voting for all categories will close on November 1, 2025, with the exception of the Best Male Artist, Best Female Artist, and Best Artist categories, which will remain open until 20:00 on the awards night, November 8, 2025.
The winners will be celebrated at an elegant ceremony.
