Mbabane – The Director of Legal Affairs in the King’s Office, Ntsika Fakudze, expressed his commitment to collaborating with the returning members of the National Emergency Response Council on HIV and AIDS (NERCHA) Council board following his appointment as chairperson.
During the unveiling of the NERCHA board, Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini highlighted the importance of continued health services for over 200,000 Emaswati enrolled in ART.
“Your Excellency, we humbly accept the assignment given to the board. Speaking on behalf of the board, we recognize the significant responsibilities ahead during our tenure. Our goal is to support NERCHA in achieving its strategic objectives and serving the nation effectively,” Fakudze stated.
The incoming board chair said they will serve the board with oversight functions and to guide the work of NERCHA management.
“And we anticipate that it is going to be a time that is going to be fruitful and ensure that we deliver what is expected. We are grateful, Your Excellency, that in the council you have ensured that we have very good skills, expertise, and experience in the form of the returning members of the council to ensure that there’s continuity and nothing is left behind. Ours is then to ensure that we take it from here and deliver on the mandate that is set before us, and we do trust that we will serve as desired,” he said.
Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini mandated the board to review the establishing statute, NERCHA Act 8 of 2003.
