Eswatini records increase in Infant COVID-19 infections

Mbabane: Eswatini has recorded another infant of 1 year-old who has tested positive for COVID-19.

On May 23 and 27 two children were also reported to have contracted COVID-19 respectively and both of them were 2 year-olds.

This was revealed by the Minister of Health Lizzie Nkosi when announcing seven (7) new confirmed COVID-19 cases bringing up the total number of cases to 279.

Nkosi said the ministry has received 147 results, of which 140 tested negative and 7 tested positive.

Three (3) of the new COVID-19 cases care from the Manzini region whereas four (4) are from Shiselweni region. Shiselweni region confirmed cases increases to 22 cases, while Manzini cases stands at 171.

Nkosi went on to encouraged to continue observing all safety advices given by the ministry of health and World Health Organization. This advices including frequent washing of hands with running water and soap, social distancing and wearing masks is also mandatory whenever one goes out to public areas and when having flue.

Nkosi has appreciated all health workers for their good work that has seen Eswatini having an enormous increase in the number of recoveries.
