Mbabane: This is one of the most important aspects that men must look into before choosing what to wear.

The outside world of fashion is driven by energetic individuals who always work hard to bring the needed vibe in all the fashion industry and fashion shows hosted across the country. It is always pleasing to see young men taping into the fashion space.

This week we got a chance to speak to one of the upcoming stylists and fashion blogger, Gifted Phiwa Dlamini, a young men who is in his mid-20s with great passion for fashion who is also a student at the Eswatini Christian University, doing Radiography.

Phiwa explains how he fell in love with fashion, the choice of his clothes and shares some tips on what how men should dress up this coming season.

He says while men may not have the same shape as women, men’s bodies still come in all shapes and sizes. Therefore, it’s important to ensure you’re wearing clothes that flatter you, not fatter you.  You need to dress the way you will like to be addressed.  The way you dress speak volumes about you, where you come from, where you are, and where you going.  Dress code speak for you before you utter a word, it’s an introduction of who you are.

Phiwa says back in the 90s when men had to dress up for a dinner or a wedding or whatever semi-formal event, men had to wear khakis or try hard to find some dress pants that didn’t look too dorky.  Then came the challenge of finding dress shoes which was a total nightmare. Nowadays high quality dark denim jeans have replaced dress pants for men, and quite a lot of things have change with new styles and trends.

Born and bred in the most underrated place of Gundvini in the Manzini Region, and raised by a single parent mother, Phiwa is a young man driven by his goals. He is entrepreneur selling smart wear related stuffs, suits, and sneakers to name but a few. He is also scholar at the Eswatini Medical Christian University, pursuing Radiography.

Passion

Phiwa developed the passion with this style late after completing High School, he says he is following some few fashion Gurus from abroad  countries like Rowanrow,  El.Vino  Yuusuf Ally and Mr. Passy to name a few. Personally he believe style is something unique in every individual.

Fashion is about a creative mind full of ideas and willing to learn in the process. “It’s been two years in this fashion industry and approaching my third year but because of the attitude I developed towards fashion it’s seems like I have been there for 10 years”, he says.

Although the fashion industry seems to be dominated by females, Phiwa says he is not intimidated but he is serving his clients and encouraging more males to join the space and fill the existing gender gaps.

Fashion demands consistency and persistence. So women in nature are one persistent and consistent creatures when it comes to what they love and thus they have the willing power to keep on upgrading their levels, haven’t said that I saw the gap they have created between us men so I decided to join so to fill that gap and so I inspire other individuals that the fashion industry is for both genders.

Ambitious

As an ambitious young man Phiwa says in less than five years he wishes to attend and participate in fashion shows around the world. He says he wishes to also join other fashion lovers from all over the world that gather in Pitti Uomo, Italy where they dress up look good and only to enjoy their own taste of style and that where they share few tips on how you fix different combos because dressing well is not about buying and having expensive clothes but it’s about being able to blend the colors.

Phiwas favorite dress code is smart casual, jeans with a shirt and some cross belts or if cold I replace the shirt with a turtleneck. On toes it’s usually wing tip shoes with socks matching the cross belts necktie or bow tie. A pair of Loafers are also good for this combo but socks are not necessary for loafers.

For those who can like to have few tips and, we can connect on my social media Facebook at Gifted Phiwa Dlamini and on Instagram @ gifted_phiwa_dlamini. That’s where you can check some few tips on how to mix different clothes and am willing to help those who might have an interest on a dress code similar to mine.
