MANKAYANE – Breastfeeding mothers at Mankayane Government Hospital received recognition and gifts on Thursday as part of the ongoing World Breastfeeding Week 2025 celebrations led by the Eswatini National Nutrition Council (ENNC).
The hospital was the latest stop for the ENNC team, who visited the facility to host an event that combined appreciation and education for mothers currently breastfeeding their infants.
Gift hampers were distributed to the mothers, courtesy of donations from the Tzu Chi Foundation and Lush Hair. The items were officially handed over to the Minister of Health earlier in the week during the national launch of the campaign held under the theme “Prioritize Breastfeeding – Create Sustainable Support Systems.”
Health professionals at the hospital also ran a series of educational sessions aimed at encouraging exclusive breastfeeding and building mothers’ confidence in their feeding journeys.
Hospital staff and management were commended for their support, which enabled the event to run smoothly.
