MBABANE – Sibebe Premium Lager dominated this year’s Made in Eswatini Consumer Choice Awards, clinching multiple titles including the coveted Product of the Year.
The awards ceremony, held under the theme “Creating the Future,” was officially announced by the Minister of Commerce, Industry and Trade, Manqoba Khumalo. The event recognised outstanding locally made products and services across various categories, celebrating both consumer favourites and innovation in branding, sustainability, and social impact.
Sibebe Premium Lager not only won Consumers’ Favourite Drink but also earned accolades for Best in Product Design & Packaging and the overall Made in Eswatini Product of the Year. Other notable winners included Olive Country Lodge for Consumers’ Favourite Experience, Beads Emporium for Favourite Apparel, and Quite Nutty in the Taste category.
Emerging and youth-led brands were also spotlighted, with Benanial named Best Youth-led Brand and Organic Luju Honey Sachets winning both Favourite Health & Wellness Product and Best Emerging Brand. Black Mamba Sauces earned recognition as Best Women-led Brand, while Vukani boMake and MTN Bushfire Festival were celebrated for their roles in environmental sustainability and social impact, respectively.
The ministry also introduced three new digital platforms to support the growing Made in Eswatini movement:
- madeineswatini.africa, an interactive engagement platform
- madeineswatini.co.sz, an information hub
- madeineswatini.store, a dedicated e-commerce site for local products
Honourary awards were handed to key contributors in the private sector, including Pick n Pay Lojaf, KFC Eswatini, Alliance Foods, Slomoes Corporation, Destiny Events, and Emlembe Beverages.
