Mbabane – India’s Minister of State for External Affairs and Textiles, Shri Pabitra Margherita, is in Eswatini on a four-day official visit which started on Thursday, July 17, and is scheduled to conclude on Sunday, July 20, 2025.
MoS Margherita entered Eswatini by road through the Ngwenya Border Post, where he was received by the Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, along with the Indian High Commissioner to Eswatini, Mr. N. Ram Prasad. Upon his arrival in Mbabane, he was welcomed at his hotel by Eswatini’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Senator Pholile Shakantu.
Later on Thursday evening, Margherita held a private meeting with His Majesty King Mswati III at Lozitha Palace, followed by dinner.

Today, Friday, MoS Margherita is expected to meet with Prime Minister Russell Dlamini at the Cabinet Offices in Mbabane to discuss ways to strengthen development cooperation between the two countries. He will also hold further talks with Foreign Minister Shakantu at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
His programme includes a visit to the Royal Science and Technology Park in Matsapha, where he will take part in the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” tree-planting campaign, aimed at promoting environmental conservation.
On Saturday, Margherita will preside over the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) scholarship awards ceremony at the UN House in Mbabane before engaging with the Indian community residing in Eswatini.
