HARARE – Eswatini and Zimbabwe are exploring new opportunities to work together in the energy sector, following a bilateral meeting held on the sidelines of the 43rd SADC Joint Meeting for Ministers Responsible for Energy and Water.
Acting Minister for Natural Resources and Energy, Principal Secretary Lindiwe Mbingo, met on Wednesday morning with Zimbabwe’s Minister of Energy and Power Development, July Moyo, at the Rainbow Towers Hotel in Harare. The discussion focused on areas where the two countries can cooperate, including renewable energy, regulation of liquid petroleum gas (LPG), and innovation around electric vehicles.
Mbingo was accompanied by a high-level delegation of Eswatini officials, including the Directors of Energy and Water Affairs, Deputy Speaker of the House of Assembly Madala Mhlanga, Senator Princess Nkosungumenzi, and senior representatives from EEC, ESERA, EWSC, and INMACOM.
