MBABANE – Public voting is now open for the 2025 Made in Eswatini Consumer Choice Awards, giving locals across the country a chance to celebrate their favourite proudly Swati brands.
Organised by A Peculiar People, this year’s edition features over 130 local businesses across diverse sectors including beauty, beverages, fashion, home goods, wellness, and unique experiences. The public can vote online at www.madeineswatini.africa using MoMo (Mobile Money), thanks to a collaboration with MTN Fintech which has streamlined the voting process for ease of access.
“This is a chance for consumers to support the brands they love and use every day,” said Melusi Zox Dlamini, chairperson of A Peculiar People. “Each vote represents belief in Swati entrepreneurship and innovation.”
The awards are divided into two parts — public voting and jury evaluation. While the general public chooses their favourites in several categories, a panel of experts will assess entries in the jury categories based on technical merit, innovation, and social impact. Brands led by youth, women, and those championing sustainability will also be spotlighted.
The product that secures the most public votes across all categories will be named Product of the Year 2025.
Support for the awards has grown across various sectors. Business Eswatini endorsed the initiative, calling it a powerful boost for local enterprise development and a tool for building pride in local products.
The awards ceremony is scheduled for 25 July 2025 at Brackenhill in Mbabane. Her Royal Highness Princess Sakhizwe has encouraged attendees to dress in warm, earth-toned clothing as a nod to the country’s natural beauty and a show of support for local fashion.
The full list of nominees is available on A Peculiar People’s social media pages.
Voting is open now at www.madeineswatini.africa.
