Two of Eswatini’s rising stars, Uncle Waffles and Zee Nxumalo, are set to perform at the Afro Nation music festival in Portugal, one of the biggest international events celebrating African music and culture.
Uncle Waffles, known for her electrifying Amapiano DJ sets and viral dance performances, continues her international tour with a scheduled appearance in Toronto on 1 July before heading to Afro Nation. Her global breakthrough began on social media, where videos of her energetic performances drew millions of views, propelling her into the spotlight.
Joining her on the lineup is singer-songwriter Zee Nxumalo, whose music blends Afro-pop and traditional Swazi sounds. Her lyrics often touch on personal experiences and social themes, making her a relatable voice for many. She recently performed at the MTN Bushfire Festival, where she delivered a standout performance.
The Afro Nation festival features a star-studded lineup including Burna Boy, Davido, Chris Brown, Mary J. Blige, and Scott Maphuma, among others. The festival brings together top artists from across the continent and beyond, offering a global stage for emerging and established acts.
Both artists represent Eswatini’s growing presence in the African music industry and will share the stage with some of the biggest names in the world when the festival gets underway.
