Buseleni, Eswatini – Deputy Prime Minister Thulisile Dladla today officially handed over farming equipment and a truck worth E3 million to Zamani Mkhwenyana Investment at Buseleni Chiefdom in Nkwene Inkhundla, as part of a government-backed rural development initiative.
The support package, financed through the Regional Development Fund (RDF), includes a tractor with implements, a truck, and agricultural inputs. The project aims to enhance local agricultural production and promote sustainable income-generation in the community.
Addressing residents and project stakeholders, Dladla described the launch as a strategic step toward empowering rural communities, particularly through investment in agriculture. She said the project reflects the government’s long-term commitment to food security, job creation, and economic self-reliance across Eswatini.
“Agriculture remains the backbone of our economy. Providing modern tools to this investment group will increase yields and improve livelihoods,” Dladla said. “We are not just supporting a project — we are building capacity and strengthening the community’s future.”

Zamani Mkhwenyana Investment is a local initiative made up of men, women, and young people working collectively to uplift their community. Dladla commended the group’s inclusive approach, saying it aligns with national policies that promote participation of all citizens in economic development, especially marginalised groups.
Over the last two years, Nkwene Inkhundla alone has benefited from RDF-funded projects worth more than E10 million, ranging from infrastructure upgrades to income-generating initiatives.
Dladla urged all beneficiaries of the RDF to focus on long-term sustainability, adopt innovative farming practices, and commit to environmental stewardship to ensure that such projects continue benefiting future generations.
She also used the platform to address the nation’s growing concern over child murders, describing the crisis as a “deeply disturbing issue” that demands urgent, collective action.
“We cannot stand by while our children are being taken from us,” she said. “Every citizen must work with the police and speak out. Any piece of information, no matter how small, could help save a life.”
