MANZINI – Learners and schools from across the Manzini Region were celebrated this week for outstanding academic performance during a recognition ceremony that drew the attention of educators, government officials, and long-time education partner, Macmillan Eswatini.
Held under the banner of the Manzini Region Academic Awards, the event marked another milestone in honouring academic excellence, with learners who topped their classes receiving awards for their diligence and commitment.
Macmillan Education, a key sponsor of the event since its inception, contributed E60,000 this year to support the initiative. The company, which has operated in Eswatini since 1979, said the awards serve as a reminder of what is possible when learners, teachers, and educational institutions work together with a shared vision.

“This stage is reserved for champions,” said a representative of Macmillan during the ceremony. “The kind of excellence we are celebrating today is the result of years of commitment, resilience, and hard work—often accompanied by sweat, blood, and tears. It is this level of dedication that separates winners from the average.”
The awards ceremony was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Education and Training, school heads, teachers, learners, and other stakeholders. Macmillan acknowledged the role played by teachers in demystifying complex concepts and ensuring learners grasp them. Tribute was also paid to the Ministry under the leadership of the Minister of Education for creating an enabling environment for academic growth.
Founded in 1843 and now operating in over 70 countries, Macmillan has built a global reputation for producing high-quality educational content. Locally, its impact continues to be felt in classrooms through the provision of relevant learning materials tailored for Eswatini’s education system.
The Manzini Region Academic Awards are now seen as a cornerstone of academic motivation in the country, igniting passion among learners to strive for excellence in their studies.
