Mbabane- Exciting news for talented dancers as Eswatini National Dance Association (ENDA) calls on all dancers from across the country for MTN Bushfire Festival.
The event is set to start from May 26-29 at Fitness Zone in Manzini, the actual selection of dancers would take place on May 27 and chosen individuals would then spend next two days ( 28th and 29th) in rehearsals to prepare for their performance at the MTN Bushfire Festival. The workshop is aimed at helping dancers gain recognition and grow their career both local and nationally, it will provide platform for dancers to secure spot and perform alongside international arts at one of Africa’s celebrated festival, bushfire.
According to ENDA Treasurer, Sithembiso Magagula, famously known as Toothless Da Dancer, “the workshop is meant to share culture exchange with Colombia, Mozambique and Eswatini by also making them understanding on how they can make a living through dancing. Many dancer’s in the country lack access to grand platforms like MTN Bushfire Festival, for these very reason ENDA decided to launch this workshop and audition program.
Magagula highlighted that the program will only be able to accommodate 40 dancers, meaning that dancers need to come in full force. This collaboration with bushfire festival has put the association in high level of expertise and with time we will be the best association for every upcoming Dancer or Artist.
“Our mission is to help the Youth change their lifes, mentaI wise , and by keeping them away from drugs, robbery, reducing depression and stress, lastly creating jobs for those who are unemployed and have dropped out of school” stated Magagula.
“We as organisation have partnered with people from Mozambique and Colombia, so as to reach other places.
