The Central Bank of Eswatini (CBE) has announced that Mukuru Financial Services (Pty) Limited will officially cease operations in the country by June 30, 2025. Mukuru, a well-known financial services provider regulated by the CBE, confirmed its voluntary decision to wind down business activities.
The closure process will take place under the close supervision of the Central Bank to ensure all regulatory standards are met and customer interests are safeguarded. Customers with claims related to inward payments are advised to visit Mukuru’s branches in Manzini or Mbabane before the final closure date.
According to the CBE, all pending transactions and obligations will be honoured during the transition period. However, no payments, either incoming to Eswatini or outgoing to other countries, will be processed after June 30, 2025.
Mukuru has committed to working directly with its customers and business partners to reduce service disruption. Any questions or concerns can be addressed at the company’s outlets in Manzini or Mbabane.
The Central Bank expressed appreciation to Mukuru for its contribution to expanding financial access and supporting Eswatini’s economic development over the years. Further updates on the process will be issued as needed.
