Mbabane – The Eswatini Med Fund Chairperson Sammy Dlamini issued a public notice on the continuation of the company’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) today.
This follows the court order issued by Judge Ticheme Dlamini at the High Court after Business Eswatini filed an exparte application on extreme urgency to stop Dlamini and Principal Officer Peter ‘Samora’ Simelane from continuing with the meeting.
The application, which is being appealed by Dlamini and Simelane, stated that the decision to call the AGM did not align with corporate governance ethos. It further sought to prohibit the duo from interfering in any investigations into the company’s affairs initiated by the board of directors.
In the statement, the Chairperson also said, “the Fund will provide shareholders with a briefing on its current affairs.”
Dlamini also confirmed to Independent News telephonically that the AGM is expected to continue at The Hillton Garden Inn at about 1400 hours, as planned.
“I’m still the Chairperson duly elected by the members. The AGM is meant to share how the board ought to conduct itself,” he said.
