MBABANE — Clients of Standard Bank Eswatini have walked away with major prizes, including regional travel packages, after the bank concluded its Choose Standard Bank campaign aimed at rewarding loyalty and promoting digital banking.
The promotion, which ran from October 2025 to January 2026 during the festive period, converted routine transactions into entries for prizes, encouraging customers to use cards and other secure electronic channels instead of cash.
Speaking at the prize presentation ceremony held at the bank’s head office in Mbabane, Head of Personal and Private Banking Ewen Hiwa said the initiative was designed to reward clients while encouraging smarter, safer ways of banking.
“We set out to reward our clients, we aimed to encourage smart digital banking behaviour and we wanted to reinforce why Standard Bank remains the bank of choice for so many,” he said.
Hiwa noted that the campaign spanned transactional engagement and card usage across the bank’s network, positioning it as more than just a seasonal promotion.
“Every tap, every swipe, every digital transaction represents something bigger. It represents financial inclusion, it reflects growing digital adoption and it signals a shift toward safer, more convenient banking for our communities,” he said.
He added that the initiative forms part of the bank’s broader strategy to deepen client relationships, support responsible spending and accelerate digital enablement.
Participants won a range of rewards, including a 70 inch smart television, smartphones, headphones, speakers and other electronic items. The grand prize saw five clients each receiving a fully sponsored trip for two to Cape Town, South Africa, covering flights, accommodation and related travel expenses.
Hiwa described the winners as representatives of thousands of clients who actively engaged with the bank during the campaign period, which recorded a noticeable increase in digital transactions and card usage.
“To our clients who are here with us today; THANK YOU. Your trust is something we do not take lightly. By choosing Standard Bank, you are choosing security, innovation and a partner committed to your growth and financial wellbeing,” he said.
