MBABANE – The organisers of the Makoti Festival have announced a change of date for the fifth edition of the event, which will now take place on 02 May 2026 at the Malkerns Country Club.
The Makoti Festival Executive Team said the decision to move the festival from its initial date of 25 April 2026 was taken after some of the headlining artists were unavailable. The revised date was chosen to allow all invited performers to take part in the 2026 edition.
As preparations continue, Phase One tickets have already sold out, with both VIP and general access tickets fully taken. Ticket sales have now progressed to Phase Two.
Under the current pricing structure, Phase Two general tickets are selling at E250, while Phase Three general tickets will cost E300. VIP tickets for Phase Two are priced at E650, with Phase Three VIP tickets set at E750.
The Executive Team has assured festivalgoers that the fifth edition will feature a strong line up, with more artists expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
Phase One artists include South African DJ, television personality and businesswoman DJ Zinhle Jiyane. Also confirmed is local gospel artist Nothando Hlophe, a former member of South African group Spirit of Praise, who recently toured Taiwan and several provinces in South Africa while promoting her latest album. Additional local acts on the Phase One line up are Velemiseni, Gifted Kosie, Culolami, Ash and NelsonX, alongside Mozambique based DJ Skywhite.
Details of the Phase Two line up are expected to be released soon.
The Makoti Festival is a full day event combining live music, fashion and cultural exchange, celebrating creativity from Eswatini and the broader Southern African region. Now marking half a decade since its launch, the festival has positioned itself as a key cultural gathering on the local calendar.
Tickets are available through Computicket, Howler, Moja Ticket and the festival’s official website.
The fourth edition of the festival was held on 26 April 2025 at the Malkerns Country Club and featured both local and international performers. Artists and DJs from Eswatini, South Africa, Lesotho, Botswana and Mozambique took part.
