Mbabane – A Peculiar People on Monday signed a memorandum of understanding with the Youth Chamber of Commerce and Industry Eswatini to strengthen youth entrepreneurship, local production and market access through the Made in Eswatini initiative.
The agreement was signed on 12 January 2025 in Mbabane and brings together A Peculiar People, YCCIE, the Mbabane Municipal Council and the United States Embassy in Eswatini. The signing ceremony also marked the launch of the Made in Eswatini Mark of Origin Licensing Programme.
The programme is designed to support locally produced goods by providing a recognised mark that allows consumers to identify products made within the Kingdom of Eswatini, while helping small and youth led enterprises access wider markets.
Speaking at the event, Princess Sakhizwe said support for youth led and Eswatini made enterprises remains central to job creation, economic resilience and the development of sustainable livelihoods for emaSwati.

Local brands were encouraged to register for the Made in Eswatini Mark of Origin as part of efforts to grow domestic industry and promote consumer confidence in locally produced goods.
The memorandum signing and press briefing were hosted at the American Corner at Mbabane Library and attended by HRH Prince Bandzile, HRH Princess Sakhizwe, A Peculiar People chairperson Melusi Dlamini and Mbabane Municipal Council chief executive officer Gciniwe Fakudze, alongside representatives from YCCIE and the United States Embassy in Eswatini.
